Signature Series Foils Usage Tips & Tricks

To apply, simply place the foil down on a flat, smooth sheet of uncured polymer clay. The color should be facing upwards for Pearlidescent, place the matte finish down.

Burnish by rubbing with your finger for 30-60 seconds. It’s the heat that makes these foils adhere and not pressure.

To build up transfer heat faster and easier, cut a small piece of deli wrap or waxed tissue patty paper and place under your finger. This will reduce the drag body oils cause while burnishing and allow you to rub faster and build up heat quicker. When the foil is warm to the touch, quickly pull away the Mylar sheet at one corner. Small speckles of foil may still adhere to the Mylar backing. This is normal. Patch larger areas by reapplying the foil over these if they occur, and re-burnish.

To preserve and protect the color of the foils, apply a very thin layer of liquid polymer clay with your finger or a flat brush before baking. Lisa Pavelka's Magic-Glos™ will create a truly glass-like finish for your foiled creations.
