Meet "The Three Bears"

Instructions for making three different bears, one with moveable head, arms and legs!

What am I getting?

In this class you will learn how to make three separate bears with plenty of options and attitude. Bear number one is Bob. He is a sitting bear who is made by covering an egg of foil (his body) with colored Sculpey III clay. You can use clay of your choice. He sits a tad over 3 1/2" tall.

Bear number two is Sam. He stands 5" tall and has an "arch" between his hands that you can decorate with different styles of brads, flowers or embellishment of your choice. He is sculpted from the same clay and also has a foil egg for a body. No armature is necessary. We will use skewers for leg supports.

Bear number three, Mr. Big, has a ball jointed head with movable arms and legs. The appendages are strung up using beading elastic and simple clay buttons we will make. He also has a foil core. Instructions are included for painting and all the embellishments. Mr. Big is 8" tall.

They can move their arms and legs... you can't expect them to stand up all the time! Their legs get tired!

You will be able to download all the instructions immediately after your completed purchase.  This is a big class!  There are 11 PDF files with over 60 pages - filled with step-by-step instructions and photos.

You will also receive a bonus PDF - "Bear Family Photo Album" with pictures of the Three Bears family and friends.  Great inspiration for making all sorts of bears!

Meet the Three Little Bears...Bob, Sam and Mr.Big

Far away in a quiet little town, there lived three little bears. Come on now, I can't tell you they live in the forest when you can see concrete behind them!... and rural Iowa isn't exactly the "concrete jungle" either. The first little bear, we'll call him Bob, likes to sit around all day and watch the world go by while lazily enjoying his sucker. Bob is a big fan of watching traffic. The reason being, there isn't much else that goes on around here.

Little bear number two, Sam, is pretty excitable. He is constantly jumping up and down. The littlest things make him shout and jump for joy. The first snow is his favorite time of year. When that time of the year is getting near he practically vibrates with anticipation. Then the flakes start to fall...   He has to catch them on his tongue and in his hands! All about, he runs like a wild thing. Finally he tires out and takes a nap, just to wake up and do it all again.

In the spring it is soft raindrops, summer butterflies and fall brings bright colorful leaves for him to chase and catch. What a busy, busy little bear.

Mr. Big rounds out the trio. He is older and wiser and just...well, thoughtful. He has been around the block a time or two and seen the world. He likes to take each day as it comes and is constantly telling Sam to "Slow down!" One day Mr. Big would like to become a world famous painter and sculptor. So far he only tells me what he thinks I should do. I have yet to see him pick up a brush or piece of clay. He says to me "Be patient, my time will come. You know you really should change the way you did that guy's ears...just not right by a long shot." Good grief!

Note about selling your creations made as a result of the instructions provided:

It would be greatly appreciated if you make a reference to Sally Golubosky and Poly Clay Play if you were inspired by these instructions.

The following is how Sally feels about it…

Being the writer of the tutorial I will tell you and any others up front...Go for it!!! I wish you much success with any you make and may they line your pockets with gold...OK being optimistic but what the heck! If I was worried about others "copying" my work I wouldn't put it out there in step-by-step photos and instructions of how to make them.

Have fun with the tutorial and sell away!
