I have only been "PLAYING" with polymer clay for about 6 months now...it all started when I was at Michaels with a friend and he was looking for something and we went down the clearance aisle and there it was...a box of original Sculpey, the flesh colored one in the green box. It had a little piece missing so they were selling it for $2.00, lol..I thought, "oh that looks fun" and that started my "Clay ADDICTION" lol.lol I have never done any type of art. This is all new to me. I didn't know what I was going to make when I got that box that day but I thought well, I need something to help make my days pass by because I am on disability and don't work so being home all day just is so boring. I needed something that would keep me busy and have enjoyment too. Well, CLAY was my answer. lol.lol.lol.. I just LOVE it. I get so excited when I see what has been made from a tiny block of clay. It just amazes me. lol.lol.. And to have never done anything like this before I keep amazing myself that "I" made it. lol. I have taken a liking to dragons and fairies for some reason. I have no clue why but I am in AWWW of Sally G's dragons. I go on her site and look at her dragons for hours. They are so wonderful. I wish I could do what she does. With practice maybe I will get somewhat close but I don't think I will ever be able to do them as wonderful as she does...just amazing!! Joining this site has been a blessing to me. Trish has been so wonderful and helpful. Thank you Trish. I spend hours looking on her site as well. There are some days that I never even get to "clay" because I have spent so much time "LOOKING" lol.lol.. I have been on disability since 1981. I wanted to be a Vet but I got hurt at work and that was it. I have been through everything trying to get back where I could work and go to college but it just didn't work out for me, so now I save the neighborhood strays. I take the cats to get fixed and then release them back and keep them fed and I also keep blankets out when it gets cold, and YES it CAN get cold here in Florida. lol.lol..I have lived here for 16 years. Came from Cleveland, Ohio and I just can't take it when it gets a little cold..lol.lol. How did I make it all those years in Cleveland? lol.lol. I now have 7 dogs, 3 birds, and NOW, 1 injured stray cat that I am saving. He can no longer go outside. He must have gotten hit by a car because he has a left front broken leg and a spinal injury that is affecting his back left leg, so he can't live outside anymore. It will take time but I will get him to be a part of my little family. lol.lol..and of course I have the strays outside that I take care of...There are 4 males that are at an empty house 3 doors down from me and I go there every morning with food and water and I sit down there about 1-2 hours petting and playing with them. They have to have that interaction. I would like to ask people if they would check with their local animal shelters and ask if they have the fix and release program. You could help keep the population down and save so many lives. Here it only costs $20.00 or if you need assistance they will do it for free as long as you agree to keep them fed AND they even GIVE you the food!! Well,,here they do if you need help..now how could a person NOT help these strays with all of that offered? lol.lol.lol.. Well, enough about me... back to CLAY!!!!! lol.lol.
