Rolling a Desired Thickness of Clay ~ Use a Pasta Machine

NEWS UPDATE  ~  April 26, 2006
This wonderful clay machine is undergoing re-engineering to make it even better!  It will be in full productions as soon as possible.

I highly recommend the Ultimate Clay Machine ™ by Makin's® This machine has 9 thickness settings and a wider
opening than others on the market. It has non-stick rollers...no more marks left from the metal rollers reacting to the clay!

If you don’t have a pasta machine, you can roll the clay by hand.

  1. First, flatten the piece by hand.

  2. On a covered work area, lay your clay between two items the thickness you need such as dowels or two stacks of cardstock.

  3. Now, using an acrylic or glass roller, roll your clay to the thickness of your stacks or dowels. The roller ends should ride on the dowels or stacks.

In other words...get a pasta machine ASAP!
